Welcome to Inkdrop editing! I'm Tammy, the editor.
I specialise in academic editing. Many of my clients are:
research higher degree candidates who are in the final stages of preparation for thesis submission for examination, or
academic authors who require their writing to be edited prior to submission (or re-submission) for publication in academic journals or texts (monographs or chapters in edited volumes), or presentation at conferences.
Some of my clients struggle with academic referencing, and/or the use of EndNote (a database for organising, formatting, and citing references), and these struggles can result in referencing issues. I like working with references and databases, and I can provide assistance in checking and reformatting your academic references and/or your EndNote library entries. Alternatively, I can build you an EndNote library from references you provide.
I have also acted as liaison between book editors and chapter authors in the production of academic texts, and I'd be keen to do that again. There's a great deal of pleasure to be gained from being involved in a project from its conception, through draft and feedback stages, to final publication.
All that said, however, I'm happy to work with authors on any text that needs copyediting, formatting, proofreading, or indexing. For example, I recently provided services to the author of a collection of Australian short stories. One of the exciting things about this project was that the author's 2003 doctoral thesis was one of the early theses I edited. All these years later, I feel honoured to have been trusted with copyediting and formatting this author's first work of fiction.
Basically, I love working with words and am happy to apply my skills as they're required.
Inkdrop editing offers a service that is boutique; individually tailored to meet your needs. I'm happy to discuss your current project and together we can decide on how best to proceed.
My business philosophy and ethics

As an associate member of the Institute for Professional Editors (IPEd), I work within IPEd's Code of Ethics, and the Australian Standards for Editing Practice (IPEd). When working with research higher degree candidates, I also follow the Guidelines for Editing Research Theses (IPEd).
